TECHNOLOGY CONSULTATION SERVICE TERMS: This service is for planning, designing, or evaluating technology solutions for the home. This service includes a report with recommendations and pricing for discussed technology solutions. Troubleshooting, repairing, or installing products or services, whether new or existing in the customer’s home, is excluded from this service.

ONLINE APPOINTMENTS & CANCELLATIONS: Booking an appointment online reserves a specific time for you to receive our services, so we ask that you notify us of any changes or cancellations at least 2 hours prior to your appointment window.

PAYMENT TERMS: Invoice balances are due upon receipt unless a written due date is specified. For payments made by check, cash, or CashApp, we offer a cash discount of 3.3%.

LATE PAYMENT TERMS: Invoices not paid within 14 calendar days of receipt, or the written due date, will be considered past due, and subject to late fees starting on day 15. A late fee of 10% of the past-due amount will be added to the invoice(s), beginning on day 15, and continuing every 30 days thereafter, not to exceed limits set forth in Maryland Statute §14–1315. Customer accounts that are 45 days or more past due will be considered delinquent and will be subject to collection actions.

RETURNED CHECK NSF FEE: A fee of $35 will be added to unpaid invoices where a check was returned for non-sufficient funds, and electronic payment will be required to settle the unpaid invoice.

DEPOSITS: At the discretion of Maryland Home Tech Consulting, we may require up to a 33% deposit before beginning work or ordering parts or hardware.

ESTIMATES: Maryland Home Tech Consulting may provide a written estimate for the proposed work. The estimate will include minimum costs associated with parts and labor for the proposed work. Hourly service estimates include the minimum charge for the proposed work. Hourly services exceeding the minimum estimate may be billed at the listed rate. Additional charges may apply for parts or consumable items used during hourly services. Written estimates are valid for 14 calendar days unless otherwise specified. The customer must approve the estimate prior to work beginning, either electronically via Square, or via email to Maryland Home Tech Consulting.

CHANGES: Changes to the work listed on the estimate or invoice, or additional work requested or required, will require a change order prior to work being done. Change orders may incur extra costs based on the additional work being requested.

WARRANTY INFORMATION: Warranty for parts and hardware provided by Maryland Home Tech Consulting is limited to the services and warranty period provided by the manufacturer. Warranty information is available upon request. Parts failures reported to Maryland Home Tech Consulting within 30 days of install date will be handled with a best effort to replace or repair, with the supplier or manufacturer, on behalf of the customer. Part failures beyond 30 days will be limited to the manufacturer’s warranty.

QUALITY LABOR & WORKSMANSHIP: Physical installation of new hardware (networking equipment, cabling, electrical wiring, mounted electronics and devices, and mounting hardware) will be guaranteed for 10 years, as long as the equipment remains ORIGINALLY INSTALLED.

COMPUTER REPAIR TERMS & WARRANTY: Computer repair services that require hardware disassembly or part(s) replacement come with a 30-day warranty on installation and assembly labor. Issues with parts installed by Maryland Home Tech Consulting must be reported within 30 days of the computer being returned to the customer. If the issue is determined to be caused by faulty installation or assembly by Maryland Home Tech Consulting, we will make the best reasonable effort to fix the issue or provide an equivalent refund. Parts that are determined to be faulty, modified, misused, or otherwise not related to improper installation or assembly by Maryland Home Tech Consulting, are not covered by the Computer Repair Terms & Warranty.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Equipment and/or parts determined to be damaged or faulty due to customer modification, negligence, natural disaster, power surge, or lightning strike are not covered by any past, present, or future warranty or guarantees written by Maryland Home Tech Consulting. Maryland Home Tech Consulting reserves the right to limit its liability in cases where pre-existing issues are discovered; including but not limited to, pre-existing damage, post-installation damage, faulty devices, parts, or improper installation of customer-owned devices and equipment not installed by Maryland Home Tech Consulting.

RETURNS & REFUNDS: Equipment in good working order may be returned within 15 calendar days of installation for a refund, less a mandatory 25% diagnostic and restocking fee and any applicable uninstall fees. Maryland HomeTech Consulting reserves the right to limit or deny returns of equipment that appears damaged or modified. Permanent, semi-permanent, and custom products may not be returned.
